About Zells

Zells is a notebook-style playground for the Zig programming language. Write Zig in cells and run each in an isolated sandbox.

⚠ Alpha — Zells is an early alpha. Expect rough edges, and don't rely on it to keep your work: save anything important elsewhere.

Two ways to work:

• Scratchpad — independent, complete programs; run and compare snippets side by side.
• Linked module — cells are sections of one Zig file sharing declarations, run together with zig test.

Two ways to run your code:

• Browser — the Zig compiler runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Nothing leaves your machine, but code is built for wasm32-wasi (32-bit, limited OS APIs).
• Hosted ⚡ — code is compiled and run server-side as native Zig in sandboxed containers via codapi. Faster, full native target. Not enabled on this deployment yet — coming soon.

The editor is CodeMirror 6 with Zig highlighting and real ZLS completion running in your browser via WebAssembly.
